AN ABETMENT TO MANIPUR WITH ST.JUDES EMHSS

Karanakodam: For the people who are suffering from riots in Manipur, St. Jude’s EMHSS handed Over the amount which was collected by the students and staff of the school to Rev. Fr. Sibin Manayampilly Assistant Director of Ernakulam- Angamaly Archdiocese Associate Social Welfare Service (Sahrudaya) from the school Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan school Principal, Rev. Sr. Merline George , Vice Principal Jisha Joseph , Teachers and students were also present there.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2023

St.Jude’s EMHSS Karanakodam Celebrated International Day of Yoga in a grand way on 21st of June,2023 as per the instructions from the Ministry of Ayush. Smt. Lakshmi, yoga instructor administered the yoga day pledge. The students of classes 1-9 displayed scintillating yoga postures against the backdrop of music. Teachers also joined hands in celebration. With the co-operation of Decathlon, various competitions were held and prizes also distributed.

Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan , Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George , Vice Principal Mrs. Jisha Joseph were present on the occasion.

Book Fair

Karanakodam: A book fair was held in St.Jude’s EMHSS on 26th and 27th June 2023 in collaboration with Bharat Books, Ernakulam. The School Management arranged this event to enhance the reading habit among the children. The Book Expo included a diverse selection of books from several categories – Poetry, fiction, non-fiction, mystery, children’s books, academic books etc.

The book fair reminded everyone, the famous quote of Francis Bacon        “some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed and some few to be chewed and digested ” . Highlighting the quote, the School Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan apprehended the students – The books are best friends, companions that enlarge our vision and make our life more meaningful. Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George reminded them, A book fair is an excellent opportunity to improve their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. In conclusion, the school’s book fair was a delightful experience for all the students teachers and  staff.

ANTI DRUG DAY-ILLICIT TRAFFICKING

Karanakodam:  St.Jude’s EMHSS organized an awareness programme on June 26th 2023 – observed as the International Anti drugs day to send a message to the public that the abuse of drugs and illicit  trafficking is the menace for the people, families and the society. Unfortunately, the illegal trade of drugs is progressing day by day related with educational institutions and in this way many youth destroying their lives knowingly or unknowingly. On the same day St.Judes EMHSS teachers and students  participated in the Anti-drug campaign. Different placards and posters were prepared by the students and exhibited in the school premised to remind the negative impact of the abuse of drugs. School Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan built up the students about the ill- effects of drug abuse through his message. Every one took an anti drug day Oath with school principal Rev. Sr. Merline George.

The students of class X and XII performed a street play revealing the problems arising due to the drug addiction. The play illustrated the message that use of drugs destroys a person mentally and physically, so we should say “No” to it. The same play also staged at St. Thomas Public School Perumanoor in the awareness programme conducted by the Kochi city Police on the particular day. Students were congratulated and granted memento as a token of participation . School Manager Rev. Shinu Uthuppan complemented the children for their relevant and upto snuff performance.
