Balajanasakhyam ’25-26′ Inaugurated

The Balajanasakhyam activities for 2025-26 academic year were inaugurated at St. Jude’s EMHSS, Karanakkodam, with a fresh and innovative approach. The ceremony, led by Branch president Ephraim Anil and featured, a renowned poet and faculty member from Sree Narayana Open University, Mr. P.G. Joseph as the Chief Guest. School Manager Rev. Dr Shinu Uthuppan, delivered the keynote address, while Mr. K.P. Venu, Balajanasakhyam Sahakari, shared the ‘Sakhyam Message’. Principal Rev. Sr. Merlin George handed over the list of student members, to him. The event included addresses from dignitaries like Chief Sahakari Mr. A Abhijith, students Anvitha S. Bhatt, Noyal George, Trs. Sruthy, and Mary Vincy and also conducted stage performances conveying anti-drug messages.

St. Jude’s EMHSS celebrated 79th Independence Day in a splendid way. School Principal Rev Sr Merlin George extended a warm welcome to everyone The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest G Padmakumar, Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, warning against the excessive use of mobile phones and the dangers of drug abuse, which can harm both mental and physical health, in his keynote address.
The Magistrate also highlighted the crucial role of teachers and parents playing in shaping the character of children.
The School Manager Rev Dr Shinu Uthuppan shared inspiring thoughts and insights with gathering. He honoured the Chief Guest with a memento, expressing, the school’s appreciation and respect for his esteemed presence and valuable guidance.
The event featured a vibrant march past, showcasing discipline and unity among the students. A fancy dress competition was also organized, attracting participation from many enthusiastic students. Additionally, patriotic songs, dances and skit were performed, highlighting thej students’ talent and spirit.

The event was attended by Ward Councillor Sri Sakir Thammanam, Governing Board members, members from JJB and other esteemed guests. It was a memorable day filled with patriotism, creativity, and valuable life lessons for the students.

Featuring Stripes of Glory

 

St Jude’s EMHSS celebrated Tiger Day on 29th July in a creative and fun filled way of a competition of ‘Tiger mask- making ‘. The students were very enthusiastic,who showcased their artistic talents by crafting unique and imaginative Tiger Mask.Many children from class 1 – 10 participated in the competition and made it a huge success. It was a platform for students to express themselves artistically. This opportunity helps the children to develop their critical thinking also

Nurturing Imagination with ‘ English Echo’

 

St Jude’s EMHSS has launched a new platform for students to express their creative skills through language and literature with the inauguration of the ‘English Echo’ – the English club. On August 7, 2025, School Manager Rev. Fr. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan inaugurated the event, emphasizing the joy of witnessing the growth and achievements of the younger generation.

Students presented speech on the importance of English Clubs in schools- Book reviews of favorite writers were shared . Students recited famous poems showcasing their literary talents. Impressive character portrayals of renowned authors like Ruskin Bond, Sudha Murthy, and Kamala Das were presented. A captivating skit on “The Seven Ages of Man” by William Shakespeare was performed by HSS students.

The ‘English Echo’ club aims to foster creativity, language skills, and a love for literature among students. We look forward to seeing the talents and achievements of our young writers and readers flourish.

Spreading the joy of reading.

St Jude’s school launched an inspiring initiative in connection with Nallapadam,aimed at promoting a love for reading among children.
The school conducted a remarkable Book Donation Campaign, with the motto “Give a book , Share the dream”. Hundreds of books were donated through the campaign including stories,fictions, comics autobiography etc.School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu uthuppan inaugurated the event.

An exhibition titled “Aksharappacha” was also organized showcasing the books, collected from the children and highlighting the collective efforts of students and faculties.The ultimate goal of this initiative, as revealed by the school Principal Rev Sr Merlin George is, to establish a library in an orphanage for underprivileged Children.

Madhuram Malayalam

Rotary Club and St Jude’s join hands for Madhuram Malayalam. On 23 July the programme Madhuram Malayalam was inaugurated in St Jude’s English Medium Higher school in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Palarivattom. The event began with a prayer song by school choir. Albin Jacob Cheriyan,the Teacher – in – charge of Madhuram malayalam welcomed the gathering.Mr Manoj Mahadevan,Sales organizer of Matrubhoomi, explained the significance of the project.
School Manager Rev Dr Shinu Uthuppan highlighted the importance of this linitiative in our school. Dr Ganesh Das,President of the Rotary Club of Palarivattom, officially inaugurated the event. Felicitations were offered by Mr G Remesh kumar, the former President of the Rotary Club and Mr Unni, Agent Matrubhoomi. Jaan Vinod , the School Chairperson proposed vote of thanks concluding the ceremony.

Inauguration of Basketball court

 

Our school proudly inaugurated a new basketball court on 16 July, making a significant milestone in our commitment, fostering excellence in sports and games for our children. The ceremony began with a warm welcome to Mr Vivek Vasudevan Nair, Superintendent , Office of the Commissioner of Customs, a renowned National basketball Player and a model. In his inaugural speech he emphasized, the importance of sports and games in shaping young minds and building character.
During the event School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan presented a memento to Mr VivekVasudevan nair as a token of appreciation.The PTA president and governing board members felicitated the new effort , in sports and games as a positive step for the development of the students. All the dignitaries including Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan and Principal Rev Sr Merlin George encouraged the students by participating in a symbolic basketball throw on the court.

Observance of Anti – drug day

 

On June 26, St Jude’s English Medium Higher Secondary school, observed Anti – drug day. The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage students to make informed choices.

Jaan Vinod, school Chairperson, extended a warm welcome to everyone. Angeleena Maria Midhun, School Assistant Leader, delivered a speech on the ill – effects of drug abuse. School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan urged students to create a healthy and safe environment by staying away from narcotics.

Students took a pledge, led by Sister to stay drug – free and embrace a healthy lifestyle.

Anvitha S Bhatt sang a beautiful song. An awakening dance by Guide students and a flashmob performance by plus one and plus two students, were also presented. A rally also organized to promote anti – drug awakening by Scouts , Guides and Red – Cross students.

Inauguration of Akhila Kerala Balajanasakhyam St Jude branch – 2025 – 26

St Jude branch of Akhila kerala balajana sakhyam was inaugurated on June 26 with a grand ceremony that commenced at 9.30am.It was marked a series of inspiring activities.
The programme started with a prayer dance,setting a spiritual tone for the ceremony.Branch President Ephraim Anil welcomed everyone.A renowned poet and a Lecturer of Srinarayana Open University, inaugurated the St Jude branch of Akhila Kerala Baljanasakhyam for the academic year – 2025 – ’26. School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan gave a notable speech emphasizing the children to realise their responsibilities and duties towards the society and to work with justice, love and care. Mr M P Venu ( Rakshaadhikaari, Tripunithura Unit ) Mr KP Venu ( Rakshaadhikaari, Ernakulam Unit) and Divya B felicitated the children who take part in the activities of Sakhyam in our School. Principal Rev Sr Merlin George delivered an Oath to children highlighting the responsibilities and commitment.Aswathy and Adhwaya, each presented captivating monologues.

Investiture ceremony 2025

The Investiture Ceremony of 2025 – ’26 was held on 2 July in our school.Tr Soumya extended a warm welcome to everyone.School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan,invested, the School Leader and Assistant Leader with their Sashes. Principal,Rev Sr Merlin George,invested the Chairperson and Vice Chairperson with Sashes.PT Sir, Mr Shijomon handed over the Sports Flag to Sports Captain,Master Immanuel Antony and Assistant Captain Muhammed Yaseen. Tr – in – charge from each house (Blue,Red, Yellow and Green) handed over the flag to the respective House Captains.Sr Principal administered the Oath to the House Captains. Fr Manager felicitated the leaders, focusing the importance of physical fitness.
Tr Soumya proposed the vote of thanks concluding the ceremony.The event marked an important milestone in the school’s leadership journey.
