Toy Box Challenge: sharing joy with our community.

The students of St. Jude’s English Medium Higher Secondary School recently embraced the spirit of generosity by successfully completing the “Toy Box” challenge, a heartwarming initiative organized under the “Nallapadam” project. Living up to the motto, “Share the toys… Share the love,” our kiddies collected and donated a basket full of toys. These gifts were formally handed over to the School Manager, Rev Dr Shinu Uthuppan, and were subsequently distributed to five Anganavadis located in the 45th division of the Cochin Corporation. This act of kindness not only brought immense joy to the younger children in the Anganavadis but also beautifully demonstrated the commitment of the St. Jude’s family to social responsibility and community welfare.

St. Jude’s EMHSS Secures Overall Championship at Sub-District Exhibition

​This victory marks a historic moment as our talented students have continuously secured the top spot for the third consecutive time. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and creativity of our participants and the unwavering support of our teachers and management.

Spreading Joy – St. Jude’s Kids Donate Toys to Anganwadies.

The students of St. Jude’s School successfully executed a heart-warming toy collection drive. Our generous students gathered a significant number of beautiful and well-cared-toys to donate to Anganwadis in the local area that are currently not very well-equipped. ​The goal of this initiative was to enhance the learning and play environment for the younger children in these centers, ensuring they have access to resources that foster early childhood development. This project was driven by a commitment to social responsibility and the spirit of sharing within the community.

Food Collection Campaign

​As a part of the school’s activities, the dedicated students successfully organized and executed a Food Collecting Campaign to gather food packets for the people who are struggling in their life for food particularly those at railway stations and other vulnerable areas. The initiative showcased the students’ commitment to social responsibility and empathy for the community.
​We are proud to announce the collection of a remarkable 461 food packets! This significant contribution will be distributed to provide immediate relief and sustenance to those experiencing food insecurity. The success of this campaign is a testament to the generosity and community spirit of students.

Arogya Udyanam: A Step Towards a Healthy Life.

 

St. Jude’s EMHSS proudly launched its Medicinal Garden, “Arogya Udyanam”, as a part of its Nallapadam activities. The initiative aims to promote a healthy lifestyle with the motto “Return to Nature, Know the Medicines, Stay Healthy”.

The program was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan, School Manager, who planted an aloe vera plant in the school premises, setting a noble example.

This initiative encourages students to explore the world of medicinal plants, fostering a deeper connection with nature.

Empowering the Young minds

St. Jude’s EMHSS was proud to host the “KuttySmart” program on October 10, 2025, in collaboration with Malayala Manorama and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. The program aimed to create awareness among students on child development,and their physical and mental health including:

– Healthy diet for children
– Importance of proper sleep and exercises
– Benefits of reading
– Risks associated with excessive mobile use and
– Dangers of drug abuse

The informative session was led by renowned expert, Dr. Jessy, a Senior Pediatrician from Lissie Hospital, Ernakulam. It was a useful session with their valuable insights and expertise in promoting the well-being of the children. Senior Executive, Malayalam Manorama, B Vijayashankar also attended the program.

The young learners from the KG section at St Jude’s EMHSS celebrated Ambition Day with great enthusiasm, inspiring them to dream big and imitate their role models. Dressed in attire that perfectly represented their ambitions, the students radiated pride and confidence. As they embodied various professionals, the toddlers showcased remarkable creativity and passion. The event’s success lay in sparking motivation that will leave a lasting impact on these young minds.

Inaugurated a New Shuttle Badminton Court at St. Jude’s EMHS School

St. Jude’s EMHS School, Karanakodam, successfully inaugurated its new Shuttle Badminton Court on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Joy T Antony, an International Badminton Player and Coach of the Indian Badminton Team.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the School Manager,Rev Dr Shinu Uthuppan, Principal, Rev Sr Merlin George, PTA President, and members of the Governing Board. As a part of the event, Fr Manager and Sr Principal, along with a few students, engaged in a symbolic badminton match with the Chief Guest, Mr. Joy T Antony. It highlighted the school’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering talents among its students.

The Shuttle Badminton Court is expected to enhance more infra structural facilities for sports providing students with more opportunities to engage in physical activities and develop their skills in badminton. Mr. Joy T Antony shared his insights and experiences with the students, motivating them to pursue excellence in sports.

Onam 2025

Celebrations of Onam at St Jude’s EMHS School

St Jude’s EMHSS celebrated Onam with great enthusiasm, happiness and unity. The celebrations were held in two sessions.. For our young learners in Pre-KG to 2nd standard, Onam wasx celebrated on August 27. The event featured a range of cultural activities, including Onappatt, Thiruvathira, and dance performances. Additionally, Kerala Sriman and Malayali Manka competitions were conducted, providing a platform for students to showcase their talents.

For our students in 3rd to 12th standard, Onam was celebrated on August 29. The day began with a grand Ghoshayatra, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Chendamelam. Mahabali and Vamana were welcomed with traditional Chendamelam, setting the tone for a joyous celebration. The highlight of the event was the Mega Thiruvathira Kali performance, which proved the collective effort and talent of both teachers and students. A Pookkalam (flower carpet) competition was also held, adding a touch of vibrant colors to the festivities. The children participated with great enthusiasm, dressed in new, colorful attire that reflected their happiness.. A formal meeting was held, where the School Principal Rev Sr Merlin George and Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan shared inspiring messages with the students and greeted them lovingly.
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of Upperi and Paayasam to all students, adding a sweet touch to the festivities.

The Onam celebrations at St Jude’s EMHSS were a resounding success, promoting cultural heritage and unity among students. It was a joyful day filled with music, dance, and delicious food, creating lasting memories for our students.

Balajanasakhyam ’25-26′ Inaugurated

The Balajanasakhyam activities for 2025-26 academic year were inaugurated at St. Jude’s EMHSS, Karanakkodam, with a fresh and innovative approach. The ceremony, led by Branch president Ephraim Anil and featured, a renowned poet and faculty member from Sree Narayana Open University, Mr. P.G. Joseph as the Chief Guest. School Manager Rev. Dr Shinu Uthuppan, delivered the keynote address, while Mr. K.P. Venu, Balajanasakhyam Sahakari, shared the ‘Sakhyam Message’. Principal Rev. Sr. Merlin George handed over the list of student members, to him. The event included addresses from dignitaries like Chief Sahakari Mr. A Abhijith, students Anvitha S. Bhatt, Noyal George, Trs. Sruthy, and Mary Vincy and also conducted stage performances conveying anti-drug messages.
