The 42nd annual day

The 42nd annual day of St. Jude’s E.M.H.S. School, Karanakodam was an event to remember. The occasion was graced by Shri. Hibi Eden MP, who inaugurated the festivities with his presence. Vice principal Mrs. Jisha Joseph laid out the welcome speech. Renowned film director and producer Shri. Sreekanth Murali delivered a captivating keynote address. The event was presided over by the school manager, Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan. Principal Sr. Merlin George  delivered the annual report, while Ward Councilor Mr. Sakkir Thammanam and PTA President Mr. Antony Keezheth shared their valuable insights. Governing Board Member Mr. Rinu Parapilly’s speech added depth and wisdom to the proceedings.The event was brilliantly wrapped up with a vote of thanks by school leader Kumari Eina Mary MT, whose words resonated with everyone present. The “Rhythm 2024” children’s art show and prize presentation added a delightful touch to the evening, making it an unforgettable celebration for everyone involved.

Delight of St Jude’s on Children’s Day

 

Karanakodam:- St Jude’s EMHSS Karanakodam grandly celebrated the Children’s Day on 14th November 2023. It was a fun-filled day for all the kids.

The campus was buzzing with joy and enthusiasm. The day is observed as a tribute to our First prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who loved the children very much and poured great affection on children wherever he went. He considers children as the most precious treasure who are the promise of each country. He is fondly remembered as Chachaji by the children.

The Children’s Day programme began with a special assembly conducted by the teachers followed by informative and inspirational speeches by the School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan and the School Principal Rev Sr Merlin George. The principal reminded them of the love, affection and sacrifice made by  Nehruji and asked them to follow his ideas. The Manager congratulated the children and appreciated the teachers for encouraging the students to dream big and grow great.

Types of activities that were conducted for the kids from the KG and LP sections. Some cultural activities like dance, music etc were performed by the children. Some cultural events by the teachers were also staged for their beloved students which were a wonderful motivation for the younger generation. A beautiful rally depicting the spirit of the occasion was done by the juniors up to LP classes. Some of them dressed up as Chachaji and others came dressed in casual which is very special for them.

Tripunithura Sub-district Science Fair- St. Jude’s Higher Secondary School won the championship

Karanakodam: St. Jude’s EMHSS bagged the overall championship in Tripunithura sub district science fair held at St. Ignatius Vocational Higher Secondary School, Kanjiramattom. The team from St.Jude’s EMHSS was a clear winner with excellent display of their creative and scientific ideas in Science, Mathematics, Social Science, IT and Work Education. The school won the first and second overall in Science , Maths, social science and IT respectively. The great enthusiasm and blooming participation of students from LP to HSS helped to attain 551 points from different categories. The school Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan and Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George congratulated on the excellent achievement that received through the harmony of teachers, parents and students of St. Jude’s.

St.Jude’s EMHSS honoured their former students who became a part of India’s outstanding achievement of Chandrayaan 3

 

Karanakodam: Kiran John Antony a past student of St.Jude’s EMHSS Karanakodam and a team member of the remarkable success of Chandrayaan 3 was honoured by the school management, teachers and students in a special function conducted at the school auditorium on2 3rd  Saturday. School Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uhtuppan congratulated him with momento. Vice Principal Jisha Joseph welcomed everyone to the function and she expressed love and gratitude to Kiran John. She told that his presence will be an inspiration and great motivation for our students. Kiran John Antony was adorned with ponnada by Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George and Vice Principal Jisha Joseph. He said “it is a proud moment to be in the mother school as a guest”. He shared his experience of his challenging task and also interacted with the children who were thrilled to know about the success story of Chandrayaan 3.

Mr. Kiran John Antony was a member of the team of ChaSTE payload, one of the five payloads on Vikram Lander. Presently he is working with VSSC.

Capping Ceremony 2023-24

A colorful capping ceremony for the toddlers of UKG was organized on 1st June 2023. The School Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George greeted them with certificates Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uhtuppan wished them good luck and blessed by capping everyone. The vision of the ceremony was to make the children cheerful and encourage them to enter into the next grade of schooling. A charming rally was conducted to foster the UKG kids. They were welcomed in the primary section with kalabham and gifts by their new teachers in an affectionate manner.

PARENTING – THE BIGGEST SACRIFICE ONE CAN MAKE

St. Jude’s EMHSS Karanakodam :  An orientation class was organized for the parents of LKG to Std XII in two sessions on July 22nd 2023. The School Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George greeted the gathering. Sessions were handled by Dr. Beena Job (The Retired Professor and Dean English Department, St. Theresa’s College Ernakulam ) , sub – Inspector Mr. Babu John (Police Co- Ordinator Kochi ). The schedule rooted in good parenting.

A parental training programme means an effective improvement of parental practices to support the children for positive development and protection in all aspects. The orientation class was started by sharing the life experience of Dr. Beena Job to make aware the parents, how to handle their children smoothly. Parents were trained how to enrich their daily parent-child interactions for promoting cognitive performance of young children.

Sub-Inspector John pointed out the three addictions among the new generation, students- Addition for mobile, alcohol and drugs. Moreover, he explained how the drugs affect the body and kill the body silently day by day. He adviced the parents to take  some precautions to protect their children from the dangerous trap encircled.

The School Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan addressed the gathering and reminded that the parents should be aware of the current situation because the menace of the drugs is spread out in an inconceivable way.

AN ABETMENT TO MANIPUR WITH ST.JUDES EMHSS

Karanakodam: For the people who are suffering from riots in Manipur, St. Jude’s EMHSS handed Over the amount which was collected by the students and staff of the school to Rev. Fr. Sibin Manayampilly Assistant Director of Ernakulam- Angamaly Archdiocese Associate Social Welfare Service (Sahrudaya) from the school Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan school Principal, Rev. Sr. Merline George , Vice Principal Jisha Joseph , Teachers and students were also present there.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2023

St.Jude’s EMHSS Karanakodam Celebrated International Day of Yoga in a grand way on 21st of June,2023 as per the instructions from the Ministry of Ayush. Smt. Lakshmi, yoga instructor administered the yoga day pledge. The students of classes 1-9 displayed scintillating yoga postures against the backdrop of music. Teachers also joined hands in celebration. With the co-operation of Decathlon, various competitions were held and prizes also distributed.

Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan , Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George , Vice Principal Mrs. Jisha Joseph were present on the occasion.

Book Fair

Karanakodam: A book fair was held in St.Jude’s EMHSS on 26th and 27th June 2023 in collaboration with Bharat Books, Ernakulam. The School Management arranged this event to enhance the reading habit among the children. The Book Expo included a diverse selection of books from several categories – Poetry, fiction, non-fiction, mystery, children’s books, academic books etc.

The book fair reminded everyone, the famous quote of Francis Bacon        “some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed and some few to be chewed and digested ” . Highlighting the quote, the School Manager Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan apprehended the students – The books are best friends, companions that enlarge our vision and make our life more meaningful. Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George reminded them, A book fair is an excellent opportunity to improve their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills. In conclusion, the school’s book fair was a delightful experience for all the students teachers and  staff.
