“Vayanakalari” inaugurated in St Jude’s English Medium Higher secondary school.

The programme of Vayanakalari was inaugurated on June 19 in St Jude’s EMHSS. June 19 is celebrated as the reading day (Vayanadinam) every year. The ceremony was formally inaugurated by Mrs Mridula Anoop, Managing Director of A2Z group of Concerns, by handing over the MalayalaManorama news paper to School Leader Abhinav KB. School manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan,highlighted the significance of reading books through his presidential address.He encouraged the students to develop the habit of reading newspapers. He emphasized,the knowledge acquired through reading is limitless.
The function was also attended by Rev Sr Merlin George (school Principal)and Sri Vijayashankar ( circulation manager,Malayala Manorama) underscoring the importance of this initiatives.The collaboration between St Jude’s EMHSS and A2Z group of Concerns aims to foster a culture of reading and learning among students.

St Jude’s family joyfully celebrated the feast day of their beloved Manager,Rev Fr Dr. Shinu Uthuppan on June 13,which also marks the feast day of St Antony of Padua, a Patron Saint of lost items and miracles.
The highlight of the event was the launch of Manager’s book, a culmination of his research and PhD work, titled ‘Christian Economic Ethics’ – A study based on the Neoliberal Traces of Indian Economy and Development, unveiled by Principal Rev Sr Merlin George.
During the celebration, Tr Anet MJ was felicitated with memento and ponnada in recognition of her outstanding achievement as being selected to the International Wood Badge training program for adult Scout Leaders in India, organized by the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The teachers, who led the Summer Sizzle vacation camp for the children, ( KG to 9) were honoured for their tireless efforts and dedication,which made the programme a big success.

The ceremony featured, delightful cultural performances, creating a festive atmosphere.

The event concluded with a warm tea – time session,where all the teachers,along with Sr Principal,had an opportunity showcasing the strong bond between Fr Manager and St Jude’s family.

The 24th batch of +1 Students at St Jude’s EMHSS commenced their academic journey with an inaugural function held on June 10 in the school.It was a vibrant celebration marked by great enthusiasm and eagerness. The event commenced with a warm welcome followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
School Manager Re.Fr.Dr Shinu Uthuppan shared an inspiring message,narrating an example story that motivated the students to focus on their career and cultivate a determination in their life.Principal Rev.Sr Merlin George followed -up with valuable instructions,emphasizing the importance of following school rules, punctuality and discipline. Mrs Remadevi, a senior teacher, provided an overview of the syllabus
and examination pattern, highlighting the significant differences from the previous classes.It helped the children understand, what to expect and how to prepare, to achieve a good result.Mrs Shinju,the teacher – in – charge,welcomed the students with warm and friendly greetings. The teachers and students had the opportunity to introduce themselves in the meeting.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks.

marked the beginning of a new academic year on Monday 2nd June. The day commenced with a special Assembly at 9.15 am.

School Principal Rev.Sr.Merlin George extended a warm welcome to everyone. The UKG students moved in a procession with school Manager Rev.Fr.Dr.Shinu Uthuppan, Sr Principal and their teachers,led by the school band.The reopening song played throughout the procession.The students were warmly welcomed in Marian block by their new, Std 1 teachers,marking the beginning of their new academic journey.
A special Holy mass was celebrated in the school Church.Fr.Manager greeted everyone with prayers.The school premises, including classrooms and buildings were solemnly blessed by the Manager, Rev. Fr Shinu Uthuppan.The school dispersed at 12.15 pm

World Environment Day

Our school celebrated the World Environment day on June 5th , focusing on this year’s theme,” Beat plastic pollution “. Miya Franco from Std 5 delivered, an inspiring speech on the importance of environmental conservation, in the school assembly.Arnav Hareesh of 8th Std sang a Malayalam song, highlighting the need to preserve nature. Both the Manger Rev.Fr.Dr Shinu Uthuppan and Principal Rev Sr Marlin George emphasized the crucial need to protect our beautiful earth, in their addresses to the students.The children organized an awareness rally, holding placards to spread their message. Students showcased posters on environmental protection on the notice board. The students took an oath to protect Mother earth, pledging to contribute to a sustainable future. Some fruit plants, donated by Santhigiri Asram, were planted in the school premises.

The celebration concluded with National Anthem, filling everyone’s heart with a deep sense of responsibility towards our mother land.

UKG Capping ceremony – Little stars shine Bright

St Jude’s English Medium Higher Secondary school,Karanakkodam hosted a heartwarming capping ceremony for its UKG Kids. It marked a significant milestone in the young students academic journey. The ceremony was honored by Dr Meera Jan Abraham, Professor at St.Theresas College Ernakulam.
She congratulated the kids and praised the tireless efforts of the teachers who mentor these youngminds.
In her heart touching message she emphasized the crucial role of teachers play in shaping the future of their students.The charming performance by KG students created a joyful atmosphere and the event became a memorable one for all the attendees.
School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan and Principal Rev Sr Merlin George congratulated the children on their achievements and also congratulated the teachers who moulded them. The scholarship winners were felicitated with prizes during the ceremony.

St Jude’s English medium Higher secondary school provides an exciting experience for the students
with the launch of “Summer Sizzle”, a week – long programme scheduled
from May 5th to 9th,2025. It is designed for the students from LKG to 9th standard. The Logo for “Summer Sizzle” was officially released on May 27th,2025 by School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan. This programme promises a fun – filled and memorable summer experience for the children. It aims to provide a unique and enjoyable experience for all the participants.
School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan and Principal Rev Sr Merlin George wished the students a happy vacation. They motivated the children to utilise their precious time with Summer Sizzle which is set to offer a range of activities and events for all the participants.

St. Jude’s English Medium Higher Secondary School marked a new era in their sport activities with the inauguration of it’s new football turf. The National Football team Captain, Mr Jo Paul Ancheri officially presented the turf to the students. The inauguration was followed by a friendly match between St Jude’s EMHSS and CKC Ponnurunni. Both teams showcased their skill and were awarded medals.
School Manager Rev Fr Dr Shinu Uthuppan, Principal Rev Sr Merlin George, Vice Principal Mrs Jisha Joseph, PTA President Franco Francis, Governing Board members, teachers and the school leaders attended the function.

43rd ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION 2024-25

 

The 43rd Annual day of St. Jude’s EMHSS Karanakodam was inaugurated by A C P of Ernakulam P. Rajkumar. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of parental vigilance in combating the prevalent issue of mobile addiction among school children, P. Rajkumar also inaugurated the school’s new management software during the annual day celebration. Cine Artist Master Satwik Krishna was the esteemed guest of Honour. Rev. Dr. Shinu Uthuppan, the school manager honored the presidential address, highlighting his leadership and commitment to the institution. School Principal Rev. Sr. Merline George extended a warm welcome to everyone present there. Vice Principal Mrs. Jisha Joseph, Ward councillor Mr. Sakeer Thammanam, PTA President  Mr. Franco Francis, Governing Board Member Mrs. Meera Jan Abraham felicitated the function.  Vote of thanks was graciously proposed by school leader Kumari Amjitha S Menon.

Arcadia 2025, 43rd Annual day celebration showcased diverse cultural programs presented by students followed by a prize distribution ceremony making it a memorable day.
